What is LaseMD?
LaseMD is a fractional thulium laser operating at a 1927 nm wavelength. It delivers laser energy into the skin through fine microscopic channels without fully removing the skin surface.
The device is used within skin renewal plans set by the physician according to the type of pigmentation, the degree of damage and the needs of the skin.
What is LaseMD used for?
LaseMD may form part of plans that aim to:
- Improve the appearance of surface pigmentation
- Even out the look of skin tone
- Improve the effects of sun exposure
- Support skin radiance
- Improve texture and fine lines
- Create fine channels for topical preparations selected by the physician
LaseMD is not the same as a CO2 laser. The intensity of treatment and the recovery period differ between the two technologies.
Is LaseMD suitable for melasma?
LaseMD may be part of a treatment plan for some cases of melasma, but it is not automatically suitable for every case. Melasma requires accurate diagnosis, assessment of the triggering factors and a complete plan that includes sun protection and home care where needed.

Frequently asked questions
Is LaseMD the same as fractional CO2?
No. LaseMD uses a 1927 nm thulium laser, while fractional CO2 uses a different technology, wavelength and effect.
Is a LaseMD session only for pigmentation?
No. It may be used to help with tone, texture, radiance and some sun-related changes. The physician sets the goal and settings based on the skin.
