What is RevLite SI?
RevLite SI is a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser operating primarily at 1064 nm and 532 nm. It delivers short pulses that target pigment within the skin, hair or tattoo ink according to the selected treatment and settings.
RevLite is a laser platform. Any old description presenting it as a non-laser alternative must be removed.
Uses of RevLite SI
Depending on diagnosis and the clinic’s approved protocol, RevLite SI may be considered within plans for:
- Selected benign pigmented lesions
- Selected melasma cases
- Certain tattoo colours
- Non-ablative skin renewal
- Improvement in selected fine lines and acne-scar appearance
- Facial vellus-hair lightening where clinically appropriate and approved
Facial hair lightening with RevLite SI
In facial vellus-hair lightening protocols, laser energy targets pigment within the hair, making it less visible against the skin. Lightening does not remove the follicle or stop hair growth and may need to be repeated as new hair grows or pigment returns.
Hair type and skin tone should be assessed first. Coarser or hormonally influenced hair may require a different plan from vellus-hair lightening.
RevLite SI and pigmentation
Not every pigmentation concern is suitable for laser treatment. Melasma in particular requires careful diagnosis because some cases may be aggravated by heat or inflammation.
